Oprah’s Farewell Season: Moscow Mule
I’ve been an Oprah fan since I was 10 years old. She was the first person on TV to tell us it’s okay to be diffrent, unpopular or creative. Most of all she taught us to embrace who we are and follow our passion. Can you tell I’m a huge fan?! No matter how crappy my day was, it was guaranteed I could go home to cook up some food and watch the Oprah episode that I recorded.
If you saw the episode of Oprah and Gayle camping, than you know about Oprah’s favorite drink, the Moscow Mule. A Moscow Mule uses Reed’s Ginger Beer, which is fresh ginger root mixed with honey, lime, herbs and spices. And I’m not embarrassed to admit that I went to the liquor store at Wegmans asking for ginger beer only to realize it’s an unalcoholic beverage AKA like root beer is. Oops, I knew that It’s refreshing and has a spicy little bite to it. Bottoms up! J
Moscow Mule
Ingredients:
1 oz. vodka
1 tsp. sugar syrup
Fresh Squeezed lime juice
1/2C Ginger Beer
1 sprig Fresh Mint
1 Lime Slice
Make It…
Pour vodka over ice, add sugar syrup and fresh lime juice. Add ginger beer and stir. Garnish with mint and lime. *NOTE* – Oprah makes her Moscow mules in copper mugs (that’s how they serve them at Russian bars too) but I didn’t feel like buying one, so a plain glass will do just fine as well!
