Kale Chips Recipe & Benefits of Kale

image

Kale has become one of the most popular vegetables to incorporate into a healthy diet. It’s packed with beta carotene, vitamins K, C and calcium. There are studies that show kale contains anti-cancer chemicals that can boost DNA repair in cells.
Grocery store aisles are now lined with various flavors of kale chips. I enjoy making the chips on my own because it’s cheaper and really only takes 25 minutes:

You’ll Need:
Fresh bunch of kale, chopped (big leaves are better, if you do small pieces they will burn)
2T flavored olive oil (I like basil, rosemary or a spicy pepper blend)
Sea salt, a pinch

Make It:
Preheat your oven to 275*. Arrange the kale on a baking sheet and toss with olive oil and salt. Bake 20 minutes and enjoy the crunchy, salty, healthier replacement for potato chips. I’ve tried kale at a few different temperatures and times and have found that a lower temperature for a longer timeframe produces the best chip.

Enjoy! Xo
