Summer Haircare Essentials

{Bedhead Styling} Beach Waver: Standard curling irons don’t give my hair much volume, leaving it flat and damaged. I made a few attempts at “heat-free overnight beach waves” with no success. My hair is too frizzy and damaged for good results. I started using the TIGI Beach Waver twice/week (Monday morning than mid-week to refresh it). Hairspray and dry shampoo make it look even better the second day. The trick is to use a smoothing crème like the one from Gloss Moderne, and a volumizing beach waves spray: put a dime-sized amount of the smoothing crème all over your hair, spray with the beach waves than begin with the preheated waver. I always leave about 1-inch of hair unwaved on the bottom (this part is really important). It takes practice, but once you “get it” the results are salon worthy.

{Philip B}: Maui Wowie Beach Mist: I spray this on my hair every single time I do the TIGI waver. It’s different than a typical beach wavesproduct because it adds loads of volume without weighing hair down. I love the scent – fresh and tropical!

{Kenra}: Hot Spray + Blow Dry Spray: I’ve been using this for years when I flat-iron my hair. After trying some different products, I always end up going back to it. It smells like crisp green apples and smooth’smy hair without making it flat and crunchy like most of the heat protectant sprays. I use their blow-dry spray first to cut down drying time, than use a bit of the hot spray (little bit goes a long way) when flat ironing.

{Wen}: Coconut-Lime Cleansing Conditioner: I’ve heard mixed reviews of this, so I was a little bit skeptical at first. I’m not really sure what people can complain about?! This is a shampoo, conditioner + leave in conditioner all in one bottle. The coconut lime scent is long lasting and a big added bonus. I use this treatment BEFORE heading to the beach, throw my hair in a braid and call it a day. Frizz-free and easy!
{Alterna}: Caviar Shampoo and Conditioner: The “caviar” line from Alterna replenishes hair and provides anti-aging benefits. Specifically designed for chemically treated, damaged, dry, brittle hair. That’s me! Sulfate free, it protects your hair color and locks in loads of moisture. After spending a day at the beach, this is my “go to” product. I can let my hair air dry afterwards to give it a little break.

{Alterna}: Beach Waves: When I want a sleeker, smooth beach waves look this is my go-to product. This provides lots more moisture than a typical beach waves product.
{Grow Gorgeous}: Serum: I recently discovered the inversion method for hair growth (flipping your head over). This plus the Grow Gorgeous serum will have your locks moving along quickly. The formula is ultra-concentrated so a little bit will go a long way. There are so many products out there with false marketing on hair growth restoration, this one does work (and I was not paid to say that).

{Gloss Moderne}: Full line of smoothing products: Gloss Moderne was designed for after keratin treatments at the salon. However, it can be used by anyone looking for smooth, shiny, glossy hair. My hair is extremely brittle no matter how many cuts I get. It’s just from years of heat and highlighting damage. All of their products are sulfate, sodium chloride and paraben-free.
